Gannon nursing students help teach kids about healthy living

Gannon nursing students teach kids about healthy living at Saint Benedict’s.  

The collegiate students making weekly visits to teach kids about hand washing, covering their sneezes, dental hygiene, and exercise.  Each class at St. Ben’s has about 12-20 children who spend time with the Gannon students and do fun activities.

Leslie Konyha, Student Nurse, says, ”Well, nutrition starts young and you wanna start a good foundation for a healthy body and starting when they’re young is a good place to begin.”

The Gannon students aim to teach the children about basic food groups and staying away from junk food.
