Tips for healthy snacking

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Everybody knows that proper nutrition is a key part of good health. But when energy lags, experts say go for the snacks that are good for you.

If you do want to keep some sugary snacks in your home, put them where they’re hard to see or reach.

Also, don’t spend money on pre-packaged snacks, and buy healthy choices in bulk and divide out portions yourself at home.

This will keep you from eating too much at one time.

Some healthy snack ideas include cut up vegetables and fruits, homemade trail mix, whole grain crackers and Greek yogurt.
